Fanttik E1 MAX Troubleshooting Guide

Central E1 MAX support hub: full spec sheet, torque cut-out fixes, magnetic bit behavior, storage and charging best practices, and owner FAQ.

Share

This is the central support page for the Fanttik E1 MAX precision electric screwdriver. It is the 50-bit aluminum-case kit used by iPhone, MacBook, Joy-Con, and PC SSD repair people. Support questions cluster around three buckets: torque cut-out on small screws, the magnetic bit holding behavior, and waking the unit after long storage.

Most Common Issues

  • Auto mode stops on a small screw — torque is below the screw resistance; switch to manual mode and finish the seat by hand-twist.
  • Won't power on after a week of storage — light-tap deep-discharge state; plug the USB-C in for 10 minutes and try again.
  • Magnetic tip drops M1.4 screws into the MacBook chassis — the magnet is rated for the standard bit holder, not for sub-millimeter screws.
  • LED ring stays lit when set down — normal three-minute auto-off behavior, not a defect.
  • Bit cap rotates loosely after long use — tighten the hex collar by hand; do not use pliers.

Manual & Documentation

The E1 MAX ships with a printed bit map identifying each of the 50 bits. The aluminum case has a label that shows the bit number for the most common devices (iPhone, MacBook, Joy-Con, PS5). The official spec sheet on the E1 MAX product page is the canonical reference for torque settings — the in-box card uses simplified labels.

Setup & First-Time Use

  1. Charge to 100 percent before first use. The 350 mAh cell finishes in under 90 minutes on USB-C.
  2. Test the spin direction with a screw out of any device. The forward and reverse buttons sit close together and are easy to confuse on the first hour of use.
  3. Start with low torque on any unknown device. The 0.05 N·m low setting is intentionally undersized so it will not strip a fragile screw on the first try.
  4. Hold the E1 MAX in line with the screw axis. Off-axis force is what causes the bit to slip and cam out, not the unit's torque output.

Maintenance & Battery Care

  • Top up every 30 days during long storage. The small cell drains faster than larger Fanttik products.
  • Store the magnetic bit holder away from credit cards, phones, and the MacBook Air's MagSafe area.
  • Wipe the bit shanks with a dry cloth after a phone repair. Old thermal paste, screw-thread sealant, and adhesive residue all dull the magnet over time.
  • Do not lubricate the gearbox. The E1 MAX uses sealed bearings; any added oil migrates onto the bit and contaminates the screw head.

FAQ

Q: Can the E1 MAX drive Pentalobe P2 for iPhone bottom screws?
A: Yes. The 50-bit set includes Pentalobe P2 and P5. Use the low torque setting and finish the last quarter-turn by hand to avoid stripping the screw head.

Q: Will it work on a MacBook Air M-series with T5 Torx?
A: Yes. T5 is included. Run on the lower torque setting and stop as soon as you feel resistance.

Q: Why does the E1 MAX stop spinning halfway through tightening?
A: Auto mode cuts torque when it senses resistance equal to its setting. For tight screws, switch to manual mode (up to 3 N·m) and finish by feel.

Q: Does the magnetic bit drop screws into the device?
A: Sub-millimeter screws can drop because the magnetic strength is tuned for the bit holder, not for very small fastener heads. Tilt the device 30 degrees off-vertical when removing screws to let gravity hold them in place.

Q: How long does one charge last for a full iPhone teardown?
A: Roughly 8 to 10 full iPhone teardowns at the rated 400 screws per charge.

Q: Can I use the E1 MAX while it is charging?
A: Yes, but slowly. The 350 mAh cell still drives the motor from the cable on a low-current trickle.
